When we visited Berlin with our students some time ago, we also visited Checkpoint Charlie, the border crossing which has been preserved in memory of the tragic times of the divided city, and we found ourselves in front of an apartment building by Peter Eisenman, one of the exceptionally praised architects of our time. Although the building’s appearance is unusual, the students could not understand why exactly this building attracted such enormous attention of the profession and media at the time of its construction, that is over two decades ago.
